Music played a significant role in the African American Civil Rights struggles of the 20th Century. Artists and Musicians of that era were directly connected to the movements to fight for equality and inclusion. The playlist chosen for Black History Month are songs that are timeless pieces that remain relevant today, as we strive for unity, equal rights, and change for social justice. Listen here!
As a part of Sunburst’s initiative to celebrate diversity and culture, we would like to recognize Black History Month by showcasing some of the most influential black artists who wrote and/or performed classic songs that impacted American Music throughout the years. We are looking for students to submit videos that are less than 60 seconds to post to our Social Media outlets. Please send your video to info@sunburstmusic.com.
