Our 2025 summer programming for teens (13–17) includes two in-depth weeks of hands-on music making:
Join us for a deep dive into modern music production at Beatmaking Camp! Designed for teens ages 13–17, this camp is all about creating beats, sampling sounds, and producing original tracks using tools like Ableton Live, drum pads, synths, and samplers. Whether you’re a seasoned musician or completely new to beatmaking, we’ll guide you through the process of building tracks from scratch, layering loops, and crafting unique compositions. Campers will collaborate on projects and share ideas, learning how to blend live and electronic elements into their music. This week is all about experimentation, creativity, and finding your sound.
At the end of the week, we’ll gather for a playlist listening party where campers can showcase their work for friends and family. We’ll also compile all of the tracks into a shared playlist that everyone can take home and enjoy. Whether it’s a hypnotic beat, a layered soundscape, or a catchy groove, each camper will leave with something uniquely theirs. If you love exploring new sounds, playing with gear, and bringing musical ideas to life, this camp is for you! No experience or equipment required—just bring your creativity and curiosity.
Ready to turn up the volume and experience what it’s like to be in a band? Our Rock Band Camp for teens ages 13–17 is all about playing together, creating a unique sound, and putting on an epic show. Throughout the week, participants will form bands, choose songs to cover, and even write original music with the guidance of our band coaches. Whether you’re rocking guitar, bass, drums, keys, or vocals, we’ll help you tighten your sound and learn how to integrate with your fellow musicians. We’ll also dive into the creative side of band life, making logos, t-shirts, posters, and album art to bring your group’s identity to life.
As the week progresses, we’ll spend time in Sunburst’s in-house recording studio where campers will get hands-on experience with tracking and mixing what they’ve been working on. The week wraps up with a live performance at Sunburst where friends and family can come out to cheer you on! Whether it’s your first time playing in a band or you’ve been jamming with friends for years, this camp is about connecting through music, building confidence on stage, and having a blast with your bandmates.
For this camp, we recommend some prior experience on an instrument—check out our Band Program Guide for more details. That said, beginners are absolutely welcome! We just ask that all participants come with an open mind, ready to learn new things and even try out different instruments throughout the week.
